The service

Steel Learning Platform ("we", "us") is an educational web application providing learning content about steelmaking processes and access to global steel plant data. It is operated as a sole trader business based in the United Kingdom.

Acceptance

By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address and keep your credentials secure
  • One account per person — you may not share accounts
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

Subscriptions and billing

  • The free tier provides limited access as described on the platform
  • The Pro tier (£4.99/month) provides full access to plant lists and all learning content
  • Billing is monthly and recurring via Stripe. You can cancel at any time from your account page
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until then
  • Refunds are offered within 7 days of initial purchase if you are unsatisfied. Email us to request one
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers

Acceptable use

You must not:
  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute the platform's content or data at scale
  • Resell or sublicence access to the platform
  • Attempt to circumvent the freemium gate or access controls
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Impersonate another person or organisation

Intellectual property

  • Platform UI, learning content, and code are proprietary — all rights reserved
  • Steel plant data is sourced from the Global Iron & Steel Tracker (Global Energy Monitor) and licensed under CC BY 4.0
  • Production statistics are sourced from Our World in Data (USGS/BGS), which are in the public domain or licensed under OGL

Disclaimers

The platform is provided for educational purposes. While we aim for accuracy, we make no warranty that content is complete, current, or error-free. Do not rely solely on this platform for commercial or engineering decisions.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will notify you by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
